Our International Relations Institutional Coordination Office has achieved a significant success within the scope of the “Gazi University 2024 Quality Awards and Institutional Self-Assessment Report Workshop,” organized for the second time by the Gazi University Quality Commission under the theme, “Quality Together, Future Together: A Quality Journey with Good Practice Examples.”
Held on December 26, 2024, at the Rectorate Mimar Kemaleddin Hall, the program was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Uğur ÜNAL; Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Necdet HAYTA, Prof. Dr. Hasan TEZER, and Prof. Dr. Serhat KARYEYEN; Secretary General, Mr. Mustafa AFŞAR; Rector’s Advisors, Prof. Dr. Selami CANDAN, Prof. Dr. Togay Seçkin BİRBUDAK, and Dr. Ahmet Bilal DOSTBİL; our Quality Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Gürcü KOÇ; Members of the Quality Commission; the Quality Coordination Office; Deans; Directors; Heads of Departments; academics; and numerous other guests.
Within the scope of the Gazi University 2024 Quality Awards, our International Relations Institutional Coordination Office—specifically the International Rankings Unit—was granted an award in the Administrative Units Category under the “Education-Teaching” quality sub-criterion for the best practice titled “Systematic and Sustainable Monitoring of International Ranking Performance Indicators.” This prestigious award, presented to our International Relations Institutional Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aslıhan Selcen BİNGÖL, signifies our office’s diligent efforts in conducting a systematic and sustainable assessment of international ranking processes. The award underscores our comprehensive and meticulous approach toward institutional performance in international ranking evaluations.
Through the systematic monitoring mechanisms developed within our Coordination Office, Gazi University’s compliance with international standards in education and teaching is continuously observed from the perspective of global university rankings, and both strengths and areas requiring development are periodically reviewed. Consequently, target-oriented measures are implemented to enhance the University’s international standing and visibility. Monitoring international ranking processes plays a critical role in strengthening universities’ global competitiveness and ensuring sustainable achievement. Our Coordination Office operates with the awareness that such endeavors are not merely data collection or reporting exercises, but rather serve as the cornerstone of an ongoing quality improvement process.
