On November 15, 2023, world-renowned rating agency Times Higher Education (THE) held a webinar titled “Transforming the Future of Hybrid and Online Learning Delivery in EMEA.” This event, which started at 11:00, brought together education experts, academics and university representatives from around the world. Gazi University International Relations Institution Coordination Office, International Ratings Unit from Turkey was among the participants of this important event.
The webinar discussed what role hybrid and online learning methods will play in the future, in this period when digital transformation is accelerating in the field of education. THE experts emphasized the impact of the pandemic process on education systems and the increasing importance of hybrid and online learning in this process. Additionally, the effects of these new learning models on student success and engagement were discussed. Valuable information was given on how universities implemented hybrid and online learning models and the challenges they encountered in this process. The focus was on the adaptation processes of students and teachers to digital tools and the effects of this process on the quality of education.
In the second part of the event, representatives of other universities from the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region also shared their experiences. This section focused on how hybrid and online learning is implemented in different education systems and the difficulties encountered in this process. Participants emphasized how important international cooperation and information sharing are in this new education period.
This webinar organized by Times Higher Education was an important step in shaping the future of hybrid and online learning models in education. The event offered participants the opportunity to hear perspectives from different geographies and better understand their place in the global education community.
